As part of the OWU Connection, OWU now offers cross-divisional networks of courses organized around common themes. These networks are called Course Connections. The Course Connections enable students to study a topic or problem from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, and to integrate those perspectives into a coherent and complex understanding of the topic. This multi-disciplinary approach unites courses that are already part of the OWU curriculum, supplementing them with lectures, activities, discussions and trips to bring the topic further into focus for both students and faculty. Most Course Connections courses count toward distribution requirements, and so students completing a Course Connection also fulfill other requirements in the process. Students who complete a Course Connection receive a special transcript certification.
A brief description of these eight networks, including student learning goals, requirements, connected courses, and affiliated faculty are listed on the pages for each Course Connection. Also listed are faculty contacts, who can answer additional questions about a specific Course Connection network.
